Treatment of periodontitis

Periodontitis, erroneously referred to as periodontal disease or gum disease, is a bacterial inflammation of the periodontium. Depending on a person’s disposition and immune response, this inflammation goes deep and can cause bone loss. The gum falls away from the bone, the teeth look longer and start to wobble.

In addition to removing plaque and bacteria, the therapeutic process includes an investigation into the patient’s general medical history and close cooperation with general practitioners and specialists for internal medicine. Unfortunately, many patients don’t realise they have periodontitis or they think it is not curable and that they just have to put up with tooth loss.

We will find out if you are at risk of periodontitis, treat it if necessary and assist you with your long-term oral health.
